Message	When I was putting in my TT timer and had to run a wire to the parking brake, I tried to take off the shift knob. Felt like I was going to twist the stick right out of the socket!!!! I gave up and just pulled the center console(with the leather boot) to the side. You are right, What ever Nissan used to seal the knob, it is difficult to get off. Good luck.
